We’ve heard them loud and clear. Your tweens love to bake. This multi-session after school basics bootcamp is all about baking!
Participants will understand the chemistry of baking, utilize proper measurement techniques, experiment with substitutions that work, explore vegan, gluten free and low sugar desserts, and design their own baked goods. Each week, participants will take home samples of the sweet and savory treats they bake.
This cohort is intentionally small for personalized learning opportunities. Menus and skill instruction will be tailored to the student’s interests, cooking experience and goals. Items could include:
Fudgy Chocolate Sea Salt Brownies
Sweet Potato Waffles
Turkey Pot Pie
Spiced Pumpkin Bread
Potato and Leek Galettes
Pear and Currant Scones
Soft Honey Wheat Pretzels
Chewy Gingerbread Cookies
Participants commit to all 5 Wednesday afternoons: November 13th - December 18th (no class on 11/27) .
Cost is $350 per student, inclusive of all 5 sessions, an apron, all ingredients, recipes and weekly treats to take home. Students who have completed Teaching Table’s After School Culinary Basics Bootcamp (including those registered for fall 2019) receive a 10% discount ($315).
