Trendy and tricky enough to challenge seasoned pie bakers and easy enough for those too intimidated to try pie baking, galettes will amaze your Thanksgiving guests. In this hands-on class, bakers of all ages will tackle both sweet galettes like spiced apple or fig and savory galettes, like roasted butternut squash and gorgonzola or potato leek. You will learn the basics of preparing and handling galette pastry, and apply this technique to create your own dough with a variety of flours, like spelt, and additional herbs and seasonings. You'll learn how to prepare and arrange decadent galette fillings so that they also look stunning. And we'll make some whipped cream to top the dessert galettes. Each participant will bring home a savory and a sweet galette.
All ages welcome. Children under 16 must be accompanied by paying adult. This is not a drop off class.
