Birthday Parties

Teaching Table provides baking and cooking birthday parties for cooks of all ages. As an experienced educator to students ages 3-83, Chef Laura can engage learners of any age and cooking ability. Menus are entirely customizable to fit the preferences and desires of the birthday person! See below for inspiration, suggested party themes and pricing for kids birthday parties. For adult celebrations, please check out our private classes or meal preparation services.

Kids Birthday Parties include:

  • all ingredients, recipes, and tailored hands-on instruction

  • youth-sized aprons or bench scrapers for each participant (party favor taken care of!)

  • food and materials for 6 youth participants plus 2 parents

Additional Information:

  • We come to you! Birthday family usually hosts or provides venue. Teaching Table is available as a venue for an additional hosting fee of $50, dates and times are limited.

  • Chef Laura is available to prepare additional snacks, hors d'oeuvres, savory dishes, beverages, or extra party favors.

  • Depending on venue and age of participants, classes can accommodate up to 16 participants. We tailor the menu and instruction accordingly. At Teaching Table, we can accommodate up to 12 participants. See below for pricing for additional participants.

Baking Party

If your kid likes to bake or simply loves dessert (and who doesn’t) this is the birthday party for them! In this class, the group bakes 1 or 2 recipes or variations, including a shareable confection for the celebration and a decadent treat for each participant to take home. Possible menu items include:

  • Fudgy Chocolate Sea Salt Brownies

  • Lemon Meringue Pie

  • Pumpkin Spice Bundt cake with Ginger Cream Cheese Drizzle

  • Scones with Fresh Strawberry Jam

  • Soft Honey Wheat Pretzels & Dips

  • Salted Chocolate Chunk Shortbread Cookies

  • Lemon Blueberry Crumb Muffins

  • Personalized Fortune Cookies

  • Almond Cookie Butter & Jam Cups in Dark Chocolate Shell

2 ½ hours, $395 up to 6 participants, each additional participant $50

Dumpling Filling and Fortunes

Participants learn how to mix up a few different dumpling fillings, fill wrappers and fold them into at least 3 different shapes. After we feast on both pan-fried and steamed dumplings, we’ll fold personalized fortune cookies. Typical Menu:

  • Shiitake and Cabbage Vegetarian Dumplings

  • Chicken & Chive Pot Stickers

  • Fortune Cookies

  • Mandarin Pineapple Bubble Tea

Menu items can be adjusted and tailored to preferences, dietary restrictions and allergies.

3 ½ hours, $545, each additional participant $55
