What People are Saying About Teaching Table

My daughter has taken several classes with Laura at Teaching Table and she LOVES it! The classes get her excited to cook and carry over into our everyday lives with her being helpful in the kitchen on a regular basis.

This is the BEST way to spend time with friends and family while needing to remain apart! We had a class with our family, 3 total couples. We live all over the country but we’re all able to cook like we were together. After, we all ate our meal together and had a blast. Chef Laura was AMAZING, she walked us through each dish and answered all our questions as we cooked. We chose ‘Make Your Own Indian Takeout’ and made Murgh Makhani, Naan, and Chana Saag during the class. Chef Laura also set us up with some recipes we could prepare prior to class, Basmati Rice & Mango Chutney. We have a basic cooking experience, no chefs, but all cook regularly. The class was comfortable but still taught us a ton. The entire class Chef Laura was dropping great nuggets of information, far beyond just our meal. We loved it so much, we’re already wanting another class!

I have taken the Beginner and Advanced Sourdough classes at Teaching Table by Zoom during this pandemic. Both classes were fun, well-organized, fast-paced, and the results were delicious! Chef Laura is knowledgeable and quick to answer questions during class and by email. She has exceptional teaching skills and cares about her students’ learning experience and progress.

Laura assisted my investment firm with 2 separate virtual cooking series this summer. The feedback I received from my team was nothing but positive! Throughout the entire process, Laura was incredibly responsive and helpful in answering my questions. We were able to customize the classes to fit the needs of our group and we were able to make them family friendly (which was important to us). Laura was great in explaining the steps, and ensuring that there was plenty for children to participate in. These classes happened during the COVID-19 crisis and some people found it difficult get all the ingredients they needed. Laura offered kitchen tips and tricks to make the most with what we had and ensured everyone could participate. I can say with confidence, that each class we learned a new technique or skill that will be very useful in the future.

Chef Laura is an inspiring teacher whose enthusiasm for food is unstoppable. Her experience as an educator means that there are thoughtful lesson plans behind every class, and that she knows how to engage and draw in participants. I can highly recommend her classes for young people and adults.

In November of 2019, I held part of my team’s offsite [retreat] at Laura’s kitchen. We had a spice-themed evening of cooking and cocktails. Laura was great in working with me to customize a menu and time frame that worked for my team (8 people). During the session itself, everyone had a great time, and we learned a lot about cooking and working together as a group in a non-work environment. And Laura was a wonderful guide throughout. I recommend anyone organizing a team building event to strongly consider a cooking class with Teaching Table.

We participated in three of her classes - one was a private class in lieu of an office holiday party, which everyone enjoyed. In addition to the great recipes, I always learn several things that will stick with me. I look forward to future classes!
