Is it time to restore balance in your life? Ayurveda is the ancient knowledge and science of life. It centers around awareness of oneself and the body. In this class, you will discover or reassess your dosha (body type), practice Ayurvedic cooking and eating habits, and prepare nourishing foods that create balance. Lastly, you’ll articulate Ayurvedic practices and set goals, including eating habits, to adjust any imbalances.

This class is part lecture/discussion, part hands-on and part reflection/planning.

Chef Laura will be joined by Chef Diana Romero, a plant-based natural foods chef and holistic nutritional consultant. Diana has over 6 years experience preparing and teaching people about health supportive foods. Diana lived and worked at The Ithaca Zen Center, a holistic healing retreat she learned from healers from all over the world. She developed recipes for Sattvika Foods/Phirki in Brooklyn which delivers Ayurvedic inspired meals. Diana is also a graduate of Natural Gourmet Institute.

In this class we will make:

  • Kitchari (Rice and Lentil Porridge)

  • Ginger & Dried Fruit Compote

  • Personalized Spice Blends

  • Pumpkin Seeded Date-Nut Balls

  • Spiced Mango Moon Milk
